Our Story

The Animal Kindness Centre has been created to provide support, educational and counselling services to people in the community who are concerned about the liberation, welfare and ethical treatment of animals, and promotion of The Declaration of Animal Rights.

It was created to help to fill a need that is under-serviced in the community landscape and hopes to strengthen the bonds and knowledge of members of the public who are impacted or influenced by the plight of animal liberation, welfare and exploitation issues in society.

Inherent in knowledge of and actions needed concerning animal rights issues, are also the other broader topics of environment, health and food choices.

The centre hopes to work with individuals, groups both political and non-political and communities who are like minded and to bring awareness of animal ethical, liberation and welfare issues to the attention of members of the community who are either concerned or unaware about the extent of issues of concern both locally and abroad. The centre also hopes to educate people in these other key areas which are impacted on and by Animal Rights issues; Global Warming, Human Health/Disease and transition to Plant Based Diet options and Agriculture are all vital considerations that are tied together with Animal Rights issues.

The fundamental philosophy of the centre is one of the development of compassion and kindness in the community towards animals, those we perceive as pets and those we perceive as for human use and exploitation and we hope to change this paradigm in the public’s perception and to influence a change in society’s perception of the use of animals so as to limit and eventually prevent the future exploitation of animals in all spheres, be this their use for food, clothing, medical experimentation and entertainment.

The centre also offers support and counselling services for the members of the public who suffer emotional and mental trauma as a result of society’s current accepted practices of the use and treatment of animals.
